Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024: JMM, Congress, RJD Seal Seat Sharing Deal; Official Announcement Soon

For the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024, INDIA Bloc partners Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)- Congress- Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have agreed to the latest seat sharing formula, said reports.

It has been learned that all allaince partners have agreed for division of 70 out of 81 Jharkhand assembly seats and rest will also be sorted out soon.

According to the reports, Congress will contest on 29 seats, a slight decrease from 31 in the last assembly elections.

While the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is slated to contest on 41 seats, 2 less than last time.

The remaining 11 seats fate is still under deliberation, with expectations leaning towards granting 4 seats to the Left parties and 7 seats to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), led by Lalu Prasad and his son Tejashwi Yadav.

This arrangement would mark the Left parties inaugural inclusion in the Jharkhand alliance, signaling a noteworthy expansion of the coalition.

The reports added that Chief Minister of Jharkhand and JMM leader Hemant Soren will make the official announcement of seat sharing tonight, October 21.

The 81 Assembly state will go to polling in two phases on November 13 and November 20.

While, the counting of votes will be done along with Maharashtra Assembly election results on November 23.

On the other side, the BJP already announced its candidates list on Friday for the Jharkhand Assembly election.

BJP will contest Jharkhand polls in alliance with AJSU, JDU, and LJP (R).

BJP will contest on 68 seats, while NDA partners got 10 (AJSU), 2 (JD(U) ), and 1 (LJP (RV)) seat.
