Our ties so close, no translation needed: Putin's remark makes PM Modi chuckle

In a remark indicative of the close relationship between the two nations, Russian President Vladimir Putin said ties between Moscow and New Delhi were "specially privileged" and "developing dynamically" during a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting witnessed a light moment when the Russian President said he thought PM Modi would understand his remarks without translation as both nations shared a "tight" relationship.

"Our relations are so tight that I thought you would understand me without translation," Putin said during the meeting, drawing a smile from PM Modi.

Responding to Putin, PM Modi said, "Me visiting Russia in the last three months reflects our close coordination and deep friendship.

The annual summit held in Moscow in July has strengthened our cooperation across all areas.

" India sees Russia as a time-tested friend that has played a significant role in its economic development and security.
