Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee Smashes Glass Bottle During Argument With BJP's Abhijit Ganguly, Injures Himself

Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee injured himself on Tuesday after he smashed a glass water bottle following an argument with former Calcutta High Court judge and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Abhijit Ganguly.

According to the details, a heated exchange between the two took place during a meeting of the Joint Committee on Waqf Bill.

Banerjee broke the water bottle kept at his table and injured his thumb and index finger.

He also attempted to throw the same towards the chairman’s desk.

Soon after, Banerjee was taken for medical aid, wherein he received four stitches to his hand.

Later, a video shared by news agency PTI showed the moment when Banerjee was being taken back to the meeting room by All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh.

Later, sources said Banerjee may be suspended from the committee for the act.
