Cyber Crime Awareness Prog organized at AIIMS Vijaypur

Jammu Tawi: The Department of Forensic Medicine at AIIMS, Vijaypur Jammu organized a Cyber Crime Awareness Programme on November 7, 2024.

The event was chaired by Dr.

Shakti Kumar Gupta, Executive Director & CEO, and organized by Professor (Dr) Dinesh Rao, HOD, Forensic Medicine.

Mohammed Yasin Kichloo, SSP, Cyber Investigation Center for Excellence, Jammu, J&K, addressed the gathering, highlighting the methods used by cyber crime actors and scamsters to lure citizens into a monetary trap to extort.

He also explained how AI is manipulated by cyber crime actors to deep fake the IDs of prominent people to influence and lure them.

Kichloo warned social media users about the disadvantages of using these platforms to update their IDs and daily activities, as well as the dangers involved in official transactions with Gmail portals.

He also highlighted the importance of securing information in hospitals and flagged measures needed to protect faculty, staff, and patients.

Kichloo shared safety precautions and made participants aware of how to handle cyber frauds.

He advised the audience to report cyber crimes to help line no 1930 and register their complaints on websites like www.

The Cyber Awareness Programme was the first of its kind at AIIMS Jammu, attended by faculty, staff, IT team, and students.
