‘It's Not AC Water, It's Actually...’: Banke Bihari Temple Priest Counters Viral Video Claim
Mathura’s Banke Bihari temple has been in the news since Monday.
A video of the temple surfaced online, showing devotees drinking water flowing from the mouth of an elephant statue.
This video sparked numerous claims on social media, with some labelling the water as Charanamrit and others as AC water.
When the Local 18 team visited the temple to understand the situation at the Banke Bihari temple, they spoke with the temple’s sevayat (priest) to uncover the truth behind the viral video.
The water emerging from the Banke Bihari temple was neither AC water nor is there an AC unit installed within the Lord’s sanctum sanctorum, the priest said.
Sevayat priest Shalu Goswami, in conversation with Local 18, stated, “Those who are calling it AC water are very foolish.
Those who have spread this rumour are mocking religion.
”
“This is not ordinary water.
When Lord Banke Bihari is bathed or the sanctum sanctorum is cleaned, this water flows out through this drain.
The water used to bathe Bihari Ji is no less than Amrit.
Those who think it is AC water are very foolish,” the sevayat explained.
He further added that any object that touches the Paras Mani also becomes precious.
This is the water in which our idol has been bathed.
Devotees also echoed the sentiment, describing the water as very special and refuting the AC water claim.
The temple video trended across various social media platforms on Monday, with claims circulating that devotees were consuming AC water.
However, the AC water claim has been found to be false.
