Jammu & Kashmir: Security Forces Neutralise Two Terrorists In Anantnag
Two terrorists were killed in a clash with security forces in Jammu and Kashmirs Anantnag district on Saturday.
The encounter began near Halkan Gali in the Shangus-Larnoo area of south Kashmir.
Of the two terrorists killed, one was foreign and the other local.
Their group affiliations remain unconfirmed, according to unnamed officials cited by news agency PTI.
The operation is ongoing, with further updates awaited, officials stated.
Simultaneously, another encounter is underway in Srinagars Khanyar area.
So far, there are no reports of casualties on either side, according to authorities.
A cordon and search operation in Khanyar area of district Srinagar has resulted in an exchange of fire.
Police and security forces are on the job.

On Friday, an encounter had also erupted between security forces and terrorists in Bandipora district.
In a post on X, the Indian Army on Saturday said that terrorists opened fire on personnel before fleeing into the jungle.
On 01 November 2024 late evening, suspicious movement was spotted, in gen area Panar of Bandipora, by alert troops.
On being challenged, terrorists opened indiscriminate fire and escaped into the jungle.

Previously, on 29 October, security forces had killed three terrorists during a high-stakes encounter in Akhnoor, Jammu and Kashmir, following an attack on an Army convoy.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah were among those who condemned the attack.
NC MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi questioned why this sudden rise in these attacks immediately after the recent elections.
Jammu and Kashmir Congress Chief Tariq Hameed Karra strongly condemned the incident, describing it as most unfortunate and prayed for the injureds swift recovery.
Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari called the attack the worst form of cowardice.
On 24 October, two soldiers and two Army porters lost their lives, with another porter and a soldier injured, in a terrorist attack on an Army vehicle six kilometres from the popular tourist site of Gulmarg.
Earlier on the same day, terrorists shot and wounded Shubham Kumar, a labourer from Uttar Pradesh, in Pulwamas Tral area.
On October 20, terrorists killed a local doctor and six non-local labourers at a tunnel construction site in Ganderbals Gagangir area.
Two days prior, a labourer from Bihar was fatally shot by terrorists in Shopian district.
