Noida International Airport Joins Global Sustainability Drive with UN Compact Membership

Noida International Airport (NIA) has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative.

This move strengthens NIA’s commitment to sustainable practices by aligning its operations with the UNGC’s Ten Principles, which promote human rights, fair labour practices, environmental care, and anti-corruption efforts.

The UN Global Compact, launched in 2000, now includes over 15,000 businesses and 3,000 non-business members from more than 160 countries.

By joining, NIA reinforces its dedication to responsible business as it works towards ambitious goals, supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, shared, “Joining the United Nations Global Compact is a natural extension of our commitment to building a world-class airport that operates with sustainability at its core.

We are proud to be part of a global movement that calls for responsible business action, and we will continue to integrate sustainable practices across every aspect of our development.

” As a UNGC member, NIA promises to report its progress transparently in key areas like environmental responsibility, worker relations, and anti-corruption measures.

The airport’s commitment to net-zero emissions, embedded in its design and construction, reflects its core values and the careful selection of sustainable partners across planning, building, and operations.
