Richard Gere Sells Connecticut Mansion For Rs 90 Crore Amid Plan To Relocate To Spain

Richard Gere and his wife, Alejandra Silva have sold their Connecticut property in the US after the earlier announced plans to move to Spain.

The couple sold the mansion, located in New Canaan for $10.

4 crore) and is reportedly mulling to settle in Madrid with their two young sons, Alexander and James.

The Connecticut property included two homes, a lovely main house built in 1938 with six bedrooms and a cosy three-bedroom cottage created by famous architect Harold R Sleeper.

It also features 11 bathrooms, a swimming pool, multiple gardens, a natural pond and even a private waterfall.

Before Richard and Alejandra purchased the property two years ago, it was owned by music legend Paul Simon and his wife, Edie Brickell.

According to Mansion Global, the Pretty Woman star had purchased the 31.

8-acre property from Paul and Edie for $10.

8 crore), so the recent sale comes with a small loss for him.

Interestingly, at one point, Alejandra had considered transforming the land into a farm.

The couple had already started raising animals and they enjoyed growing their fruits and vegetables.

Since tying the knot in 2018, Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva have lived in the US.

However, in an interview with Vanity Fair Spain earlier this year, the veteran star shared his wish to spend more time in Alejandra’s home country, Spain so that she could be closer to her family.

Richard said, “For me, going to Madrid is going to be a great adventure because I have never lived full-time outside the United States.

And I think it will be very interesting for my children as well.

For Alejandra it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends and her culture.

She was very generous in giving me six years of living in my world, so I think it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers.
